Welcome Home Health Care is the licensed through each state as an senior living home care provider in all of our communities with over 400 well-trained, professional staff to care for our residents. Each staff member must attend an extensive training program with our Registered Nurse and on-site staff prior to working with our residents and their family members.

Staff development and education are essential to retaining great people.  We believe that if you give people the tools and the knowledge they need to do their job, they will provide outstanding care to our residents.

Welcome Home Management has extensive education programs that are available to team members. This includes new employee orientation, Director of Resident Services Training program; New RN Orientation program, and ongoing staff training including in-services.

Twice per year, Welcome Home Health Care hosts its own educational conferences, one in the winter and one in the summer. Our Winter Conference is a two-day educational series that is directed towards the management teams at each community.  This program is designed to continually grow so that in years to come.

Like our winter conference, our Summer Workshop will offer many sessions and speakers to learn from.  What’s different during the summer workshop?  As the title suggests, this program will be centered on not just learning from invited speakers, but from each other as well.  For this program to be successful, many speakers and sessions are focused on participation.

Throughout the year, we also host various workshops for department lead staff as well as monthly webcasts called Welcome Home LIVE where topics range from leadership to dealing with change to how to work with difficult employees. These programs have proved to be a very effective form of education for those who are looking to extend their knowledge base.

The leader-employee-customer link starts with selecting talent hard-wired for service – people who have service oriented attitudes and manners. Customer centric organizations know that technical skills can be taught, but a desire to serve others, a willingness to engage in repeated customer contact, and a capacity to stay calm when customers lose control are often inbred attributes that must be hired for.

Our employees are trained to support the three key principles of assisted living:  Offer choice, maintain dignity and promote individuality.  In each senior living community, we offer residents choices in the services they receive by incorporating them and their family members in the process.  Maintaining someone’s dignity is simple;  Show respect, protect their privacy, and encourage independence.  While resident’s have similar needs, each resident has his or her own likes and dislikes, routines, and lifestyles.  Even when seniors live with others in a senior living community, they are individuals.

Welcome Home Health Care is the state licensed assisted living home care provider in all of its locations with well-trained, professional staff to care for our residents.  Each staff member must attend an extensive orientation and training program with our Registered Nurse prior to working with our residents and their family members.

We provide project licensing of the communities and we have developed Policy and Procedures for communities in four states.

Each year, we require our team members to review policies and procedures to ensure the community is following rules and regulations set by each state that we operate in. On a regular basis, we visit our communities to host a “mock survey” which reviews resident files to ensure accuracy and follow through. Over the years, this process has helped staff be prepared and confident for the state survey process. We are active in each state’s advocacy groups which include: LeadingAge of Minnesota and the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association (WALA). By being active in these groups, we keep a pulse on rules and regulation changes before they affect each of the communities.

Additionally, we believe it is important to “take the pulse” for each of our senior living communities. The satisfaction of our residents, the quality of services that our residents receive, and the value of our community to the resident, are a critical link to the success of our organization. We value residents and family member’s comments and feedback. Called Resident Satisfaction Survey’s, they are designed to look at each department in the community and use the resident’s feedback as a way to improve their overall experience with the community.
