Each year I sit down to write this blog post, and it occurs to me that I could probably write the whole thing myself. There is so much to be thankful for each year. From our resident and families who call our communities home to our staff who do such a wonderful job in caring for our residents and their families.
I recently received a letter from a family member that made my heart swell with pride for our team. It read “I am writing to express my family’s gratitude for the care our mother received in your community. I haven’t seen or heard of a facility anywhere that consistently provides the level of care she receives on a daily basis. The staff are unfailingly patient, pleasant, and conscientious, and the generosity of spirit is genuine.”
Someone recently asked what I love about this business and it only took me a second to come up with the answer. I love this business because of the amazing people we get to meet on a daily basis. How much fun do you think it is to go to work every day and work with 500+ grandparents?! I know I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Thank you to our residents and families for calling our communities home. And a sincere thank you to our team of dedicated staff. Below you will find more letters of thanks from our Executive Director’s. We hope you have a happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for life , and the journey it takes me on. I see every day there are opportunities to be thankful, not just one day a year. I am thankful for the privilege of being a mom, a wife, a coworker, daughter, friend, and a sister. I truly see it as a privilege. I am thankful for the joy of getting up every day and going to a job I enjoy and I get to be with others who find satisfaction in serving and caring for others. There is truth in life, you always get back more than you give. I am thankful for all the different people I get to meet and how they impact my life. Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!

Legends at Heritage Place – Sartell, MN
I am thankful for the opportunity to be with seniors and others in need on a daily basis…what I receive from them in knowledge and wonderful feelings far exceed what I give to them.
I am thankful after 33 years of working with seniors that I still have the passion for helping others as I did when I started in 1980. I am blessed to have a management staff that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those who live at Heritage Place. I am amazed at the dedication of the front line staff who on a daily basis see to it all the needs of our residents are being met.
For my mother who suffers with dementia…if it wasn’t for her and the dedication she showed working as a Director of Nursing in my home town community nursing home, I would not have taken this path in life. I will always be grateful for her leadership in directing me to caring for seniors, now 33 years later.
Charles Huyink, Executive Director
Woodstone – Rice Lake
During this season of Thanksgiving I am reflecting on this past month of being a new director at Woodstone Senior Living in Rice Lake. First of all I am amazed at the dedication, commitment and compassion that the employees show when working with the residents, families and each other. We have a “GREAT TEAM” here. The residents and families have all been so welcoming to me and that is something that means a lot to me and for that I am very thankful. I am also thankful for all the support and guidance that Jacob and the crew at Hutchinson has showed me as well as the mentoring by Trincy Faas.
Diane McNeil, Executive Director
