On June 20, team members from Welcome Home will be participating in The Longest Day, an event to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer’s disease. From sunrise to sunset, our team will complete an all day bike ride to raise awareness and funds for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Today, over 35 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer’s, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 15 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. And these numbers will only continue to rise unless we take action.
Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer’s disease they are not alone. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer’s Association advance research and provide care and support to those facing the disease today.
This year, a team from Welcome Home will be riding their bikes to honor those facing Alzheimer’s on The Longest Day.
Roman Bloemke, Chief Operations Officer, and Sarah Work, Chief Financial Officer, will be leading the team on a day long bike ride. The plan is to ride from Hutchinson to Minneapolis and back, utilizing Luce Line, Greenway, Dakota Regional Rail Trail, and more for their journey. In all, their trip will travel over 100 miles for the day.
Throughout their trip, they will utilize Facebook Live and other forms of social media to document their trip and to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s.
