Over the past few weeks, Welcome Home has been really busy at The Legends at Heritage Place Senior Living. We’ve hired new team members, moved a few people in to new roles, and along the way, and more importantly, have made a whole lot of new friends.
Today, we wanted to take a moment to introduce you to the new team The Legends at Heritage Place. Some are new, some you will recognize.
Brenda attended St. Cloud State where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in teaching. She also played on the women’s basketball team during her time there. She’s have been working with the senior community in the St. Cloud/Sartell area for the last 6 years with home care and hospice. She’s looking forward to meeting all of the residents and their families and thoroughly enjoy hearing the stories of past times. She stated that “I am excited to have this opportunity to get to know the people who call The Legends home!!”
The Director of Resident Services provides leadership, direction, administration, and management of the day to day operations at the community. Her goal is to build a wonderful community where resident’s are valued as an individual.
Lina has been with the community since it opened in February 2009. She’s been an LPN for 27 years with experience in pediatrics, family medicine, and senior care. When asked what she likes most about her job, she stated, “I have come to appreciate the continued need for elder care and working with residents who have memory loss. I love my job, and I love working with the resident’s and families.”
This is a new position at the community. Lina’s role is to focus on growing our memory care programming for the resident’s in the community. She also will focus on ensuring staff are trained to work in a environment with people who have different forms of memory loss.
Shanna is new to our health care team. She has 17 years of experience in the health care field. She has experience in case management, geriatrics, home care, NICU, pediatrics, long-term care, and short term stay rehabilitation. In her work, she strives for the best quality of life for the residents who call The Legends at Heritage Place, home.
The Director of Health Services plays an integral role of the community management team. She provides orientation and ongoing training of the staff and ensuring that the health and safety of the residents are met through ongoing assessments and weekly observation.
Mindy is a familiar face to many at The Legends. She began working as a CNA when the community first opened in February 2009. She finished her LPN in May of that year and continued to work as a nurse in the community. She recently had a baby and took some time off to finish her schooling to become an RN. This past May, she finished her RN degree and began working full-time as an RN in the community in June. She recently stated, “I am now back as the full-time memory care RN and am excited to be here!”
The Memory Care RN is a new position for the Legends at Heritage Place. We believe that with the size of the community and the complex nature of memory loss, we needed to have an RN on staff who could be more involved with the day to day life of the residents.
In this position, her focus is that the health and safety of the residents are met through ongoing assessments and weekly observation. She also will focus on ensuring staff are trained to work in a environment with people who have different forms of memory loss.
Melinda is another familiar face to resident and family at the community. She has been with the Legends since the beginning. She has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Community Health and a minor in Gerontology from St. Cloud State University. Most recently, she had been the Activity Director at The Legends at Heritage Place. She has recently switched gears in to a new role as Marketing Director. She states: “I truly enjoy working in this field and continue to learn and grow in my career each day.”
As mentioned above, this is a new position for Melinda and for the community as well. Melinda will market the community through building positive relationships with referral sources, qualified prospects, and educating them on the residence’s philosophy and services. Her primary goal is to help families and prospective resident through the decision making process.
In the upcoming weeks, we will introduce you to the rest of our management team at The Legends at Heritage Place, including Lead Care Managers, Community Life Coordinators, and Maintenance personnel.
