Welcome to our new blog. We’ve been working on several new ways to interact with our residents, their families and friends and our team members throughout our communities. This blog is just one of many ways we will be working to show all of the things going on in our communities. While each of our communities highlight day to day activities and events using their facebook pages, we will try to utilize this blog for information topics that pertain to a variety of topics as they relate to senior living.
The past couple of months have been a very exciting time for several of our communities. Most recently, Fieldcrest Assisted Living in Sheldon, Iowa was awarded the 2009 Dare to Dream Award from Iowa Assisted Living Association at their Annual Conference. Their award highlighted their efforts in our corporate program called Dreams Can Come True. This program at its heart is a make a wish type of program for the residents that call our communities home. The team at Fieldcrest did an outstanding job making roughly 30 dreams come true! We celebrate with them for their outstanding achievement.
Also in September, we were given an unexpected award from Aging Services of Minnesota. Welecome Home Management Company, our parent company, was awarded the 2009 Spirit of Advocacy award at ASM’s Annual Conference. This award goes recognizes the efforts of all Welcome Home employees, our residents, their families and their friends, for their efforts in influencing public policy, protecting resident rights, including our residents right to choice in their housing options. Thank you to everyone who took the time to contact their representatives and senators. Without you, we wouldn’t have been able to make a positive difference in the life of seniors. Accepting the award was Sarah Work, Director of Administration; Roman Bloemke, Director of Operations; and Dean Bloemke, President.
